CREST: Leading the new wave

Ms. Bhuvana Jaiganesh, is the Founder Director of CREST. Ms. Jaiganesh has a double Masters Degree- one in Toxicology from the University of Madras and the other in Health Sciences (specializing in Management) from the University of Central Florida, USA. She has worked in the Indian health care industry in various capacities for over a decade.

Ms.Bhuvana is a certified patent agent in India and has passed the patent bar. She spearheads the IP related activities for CREST.

Several renowned experts serve CREST as advisory board members in its mission to impart quality education and training in the Pharma and Biotechnology sectors.

Mr. B.Jaiganesh, another director of CREST is a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He is one among the top power system-engineering consultants from Chennai. Besides teaching as a guest lecturer, he also works with Industry research teams to  jumpstart innovation in the power energy sector. He has worked with power systems for several pharmaceutical and biotech facilities like plants and laboratories. He supports CREST through engineering content and domain expertise for patent consulting.

Dr. Venkataraman is the founder and Vice president Technology of Momenta Pharmaceuticals. Momenta is a biotechnology company Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a biotechnology company specializing in the sequencing and engineering of complex sugars for the development of improved versions of existing drugs, the development of novel drugs, creation of generic products and the discovery of new biological processes. Momenta recently turned into a publicly held company listed in the NASDAQ exchange. Prior to founding Momenta, Dr. Ganesh Venkataraman was a member of the MIT faculty where he pioneered research in the area of analytical techniques for complex carbohydrates. He also served as the Director of Bioinformatics for the Consortium for Functional Glycomics, a multi-million dollar NIH initiative to study the role of complex sugars in biology.
Dr. Uma Sundaram graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Stanford University. After post-graduate stints at Princeton and Stanford, she worked at KLA-Tencor as a Research Engineer. She worked as a technology specialist at Fish and Richardson in Boston. For the last several years she has been at the Research and Licensing office of Massachusetts General Hospital as a Senior Business Strategy and licensing Manager.
       
Dr. Sasisekaran Ramnath   Mr. Sridhar Ganesan  

Professor Ram Sasisekaran is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has the distinction of co-chairing the Bio-engineering Graduate Program at MIT. He is also Visiting Professor at the Princess Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), Bangkok, Thailand and at the National University of Singapore. He has made key contributions in biological engineering and has over 95 research and technical publications, and 45 patents to his credit.

He is also the Co-founder & Director of Momenta Pharmaceuticals, abiotechnology company based in Cambridge, MA and BioScale Inc., a Nanotechnology company based in Boston MA. He is also on the editorial board of several scientific journals, and on the advisory board of other biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. He is a member of the National Institutes of Health study section panel, and is on its steering committee.

  

Mr. Sridhar holds a masters degree in pharmacology from BITS Pilani (India)and has served the pharmaceutical industry for over 30 years. He has had the benefit of serving MNCs both in India and has worked various departments and has acquired industry specific skills related to each department. He is best known in the GCC countries , where he was invited by the Government of Oman to develop pharma plants for the country. He work is well acclaimed by the industry and is currently one of the directors of CREST while he also has interests in other pharmaceutical companies in India. Mr. Sridhar has also a "Doctor of Medicine in Homeopathy," a degree conferred by the " British Institute of Homeopathy " in London.

Extensive experience of IND/CTA submissions for NCEs in US, EU, Canada and India.  Technical expertise in CMC including manufacturing site evaluations, GMP audits and documentation. Practical knowledge of international regulations and compliance aspects of GMPs, GLPs and GCPs. Proficient in verbal and written presentation of scientific data, dossier compilation, developing and rendering interactive customized training programs.


Vanishree has over 18 plus of experience in the analytical & quality control/assurance aspects of the chemical & pharmaceutical industries. She currently consults for Quality management controls in the sectors.


 		 
       
Dr.R. Meenakshi Sundaram      


A patent agent and attorney who is has a doctorate in patent law. He has wide experience representing corporate clients in the Madras High Court for the last quarter of a century. He is well respected among the lawyer fraternity and supports CREST in all missions related to patent law.
